Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information victorkulakov.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
Who we are
This website is operated by Victor Kulakov, trading as Scaling Business Made Simple™ and Victor Kulakov Coaching, based in Auckland, New Zealand. For anything in this policy, contact vic@victorkulakov.com.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus basic technical data about how the site is used.
- Contact forms: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- Event registrations: your name, email address and phone number, how many seats you booked, and whether you attended.
- Business Scalability Diagnostic™: your first name, email address, business name, industry, years in business, revenue range, team size, your answers to the 18 questions, and the scores calculated from them.
- Strategy and Breakthrough Session bookings: your name, email address, phone number, the time you chose and your answers to the short qualifying questions.
- Website usage: pages visited, the campaign or link that brought you here, and standard technical data such as browser type. We use the Meta Pixel to measure advertising.
Why we collect it
- To reply to you and deliver what you asked for, such as diagnostic results, event tickets and session bookings.
- To send you relevant business-growth, property and personal-development resources by email, where you have agreed to that.
- To understand which pages and campaigns are useful, so we can improve the site and our advertising.
- To keep records we are required to keep, and to protect the site against misuse.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We use a small number of service providers to run the site:
- Supabase for secure database hosting.
- Brevo for sending email.
- Vercel for website hosting.
- Meta for advertising measurement. Where we send conversion data to Meta, contact details are hashed first.
- Google, Microsoft and Zoom for calendar and video when you book a session.
Some of these providers store data outside New Zealand. Each is bound by contractual and legal obligations to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you remain subscribed or while we have an active relationship, and for as long as needed to meet legal obligations. Diagnostic results may be kept in anonymised, aggregated form to improve the tool. You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Using it stops all marketing email from us.
- You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by emailing vic@victorkulakov.com. We will respond within 20 working days as the Privacy Act requires.
- You can block cookies and tracking in your browser settings. The site will still work.
- If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Security
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to the people who need it to run the site. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep the amount of information we hold to what is necessary.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
